Our Soldiers That Made History

We appreciate and honor the sacrifice, bravery, and service of both our OAA men and women soldiers and veterans that protect and have protected EVERYONE in our country from the past and present.

There are pioneer African American soldiers that paved the way for our Black soldiers, as well as integration of other soldiers of color to join and serve in the U.S. armed forces today.

Notable soldiers include:

The Buffalo Soldiers - of 1866 - American frontier U.S. army soldiers bravely serving 1 year after our emancipation.

Harlem Hellfighters  - of 1916 - 369th Infantry Regiment highly decorated World War I & II Heroes.

The Tuskegee Airmen - of 1948 - Pilots courageously serving during World War II
